The Steamboat Springs Education Fund (SSEF) is a non-profit, independent corporation that administers the proceeds of the half cent sales tax to expand resources and enhance the educational achievement of students in the Steamboat Springs, Soroco and Hayden school districts. The SSEF was established in 1993 and extended by voter approval in 3 subsequent elections.

The Steamboat Springs Education Fund Board of Directors reviews requests presented through its Commission and awards gifts that enhance student achievement and are in line with mission statements of the 3 districts.

The Education Fund revenues collected each year make a significant impact on local education. During the current 2013-2014 school year, $2.5 million in gifts from the SSEF are enhancing education in area schools.

The Steamboat Springs Education Fund funded a Structural Engineering Course available to students at Routt County High Schools. Please click here for more information at this exciting Innovation Grant.
