The Education Fund Board (EFB) administers the funds collected from the half-cent sales tax and provides accountability for all spending toward the fund’s mission. There are 11 voting members of EFB, nine at-large and two Commission representatives. Board members are appointed for two-year terms. Of the 11 voting members, there are nine at-large members and two representatives from the Commission. All voting members must reside within the Steamboat Springs School District. There are also four advisors to the board including one representative from Steamboat Springs School Board, one from the Mountain Village Montessori School and one each from the Hayden and Soroco School Boards.

The Board considers requests for funding from the three Routt County School Districts and community groups offering programs within the public schools. All requests must be approved by the Commission before being presented to the Board.
