The Education Fund Board (EFB) administers the funds collected from the half-cent sales tax and provides accountability for all spending toward the fund’s mission. There are 11 voting members of EFB, nine at-large and two Commission representatives. Board members are appointed for two-year terms.
Of the 11 voting members there are 9 at-large members and 2 representatives from the Commission. All voting members must reside within the Steamboat Springs School District. The 4 non-voting members include 2 representatives from the Steamboat Springs School Board and one each from the Hayden and Soroco School Boards.
The Commission consists of 11 members. Nine members of the Commission shall be residents of the Steamboat Springs School District.
The Board considers requests for funding from the three Routt County School Districts and community groups offering programs within the public schools. All requests must be approved by the Commission before being presented to the Board.
