The Education Fund Board consists of 11 volunteers: six serve on commissions, three at-large members and two school board representatives.
The Fund Board’s three commissions also consist of volunteers who reside in the Steamboat Springs School District. The Education Excellence and Technology Commisions have nine members; the Capital commission consists of five.

How We Work
In the fall the three commissions review funding requests and, in December, make recommendations to the Fund Board for the next school year. Gifts are considered in relationship to Board of Education goals, the School District Strategic Plan, and State of Colorado education standards.
The Fund Board considers requests and recommendations during the winter months in the context of sales tax receipts, actual and projected. The budget for expenditures is finalized by March 31, and gifts are awarded in spring.
