Steamboat Springs Education Fund (SSEF) Board unanimously approved over $6.5 million dollars ($6,505,219) in grants to public education in Routt County for the 2023-2024 school year. The board continues to use categorical grant applications for the school districts.
Steamboat Springs Education Fund Grants Overview 2023-2024
Grants awarded to school districts include $5,146,102 to Steamboat Springs School District, $321,358 to Hayden School District, $257,087 to South Routt School District, and $257,087 to Steamboat Montessori. This year more community non-profits applied for funding than ever before. A total of 16 community non-profits were granted funding for school-based programming totaling $258,335. The community non-profits receiving grants were: Integrated Community, Northwest Colorado Health, Opera Steamboat, Partners in Routt County, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, STARS, Steamboat Dance Theater, Steamboat Symphony Orchestra, Yampatika, Steamboat Reading, Yampa Valley Autism, Routt County Riders, Perry-Mansfield, Strings Music Festival, Colorado Crane Conservation Coalition, and Junior Achievement. Two additional grants were awarded for a total of $235,250, funding grant writers for Steamboat Springs, South Routt, and Hayden school districts, as well as for Steamboat Montessori. The grant writers typically secure over $2 million per year in additional funds for the school districts.
